A (Slightly Late) Happy New Month + All the Life & Bookish Updates
Includes important updates for Rebound Paperback giveaway winners
My People,
Happy new month to you — fashionably late, but still from the heart. I hope April has been good to you so far. It's been a minute, and so much has happened, so this newsletter is basically me catching you up on everything. And trust me, there's a lot. Life’s been lifing, dreams have been dreaming (and coming true!), and of course, stories have been storifying.
Here’s what to expect in this newsletter:
Major life update: I started askwords.ng! 🎉
Why the podcast’s been quiet lately 😅
Our book club is alive and thriving 📚
A lil’ tea on the Love Made Me Do It Anthology 💖
Giveaway apology + something special for you 💌
Preorders, cover reveals & what’s next
Oh! I also sat on a panel at Afro RomCon 🎤
The Big Life Update
So… I finally did the thing. I started my business — askwords.ng, a writing agency that's been on my heart and mind for the longest time. I won't lie to you, this journey has sucked my resources dry and then some. 😂 But it’s been so worth it.
Becoming my own boss, stepping into something I’ve always dreamed of — it’s refreshing, it’s terrifying, it’s fulfilling, and it’s so me. I’ve had to battle fears, imposter syndrome, and anxiety, but I showed up anyway. Nigeria is not for the faint-hearted, and running a business here? Whew. But we're here. We're doing it.
Like Dwin the Stoic once tweeted (not a direct quote but you get it): Doing what you love doesn’t mean you won’t get tired, but at least you’ll have the energy to get up and do it. That’s exactly how I feel.
Why the Podcast's Been Quiet
You might have noticed there's been no new podcast episode in a bit — it’s because askwords.ng has been taking all of my time (and energy and brain cells). But don’t worry, I’m almost done reading Dream Count and when I am, we’ll be discussing it in my exclusive book club. That conversation is going to be a podcast episode too — double win!
Our Reader Community is Alive!
Guess what? I started a reader community (yes, I finally did it!) and let me just say — it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made. Every Friday, we come together and play the most fun, bookish games. I’ve laughed so hard and connected so deeply. It’s wholesome and chaotic in the best way.
Plus, they helped me name the characters in the first story from the Love Made Me Do It Anthology. I couldn’t have asked for a better crew.

Love Made Me Do It: An Anthology is Coming!
This is one of the most exciting projects I’ve worked on — from next month, you’ll get to experience the stories in the Made Me Anthology one by one. Yes, drip-style. 😌
The first four stories are already available for preorder on Amazon, and each release will come with a brand new cover reveal (because why not make it pretty?). The covers out now are just placeholders — trust me, what’s coming is chef’s kiss.
A Little Giveaway Update (And a Big Apology)
To everyone who won the Rebound Duology giveaway, I owe you a huge, heartfelt apology. I struggled with logistics, delays, and a million things I couldn’t control, and I know that’s no excuse — but I truly am sorry.
For those who received your copies, I hope you loved them. For those still waiting, I haven’t forgotten you. As a way of making it up to you, I’ll be sending each of you a free story from the new anthology every month for the next ten months. I have your emails, and this is my way of saying thank you for your patience and for believing in me.
Something’s Brewing with the Rebound Duology 👀
Yes, there’s exciting news around the Rebound Duology, but I’m keeping that one close to my chest for now. Just know — something good is coming.
Afro RomCon: My First Panel!
In March, I attended Afro RomCon, a beautiful event for romance authors and screenwriters in Nigeria. I even sat on a panel to discuss writing and self-publishing in Nigeria, alongside other incredible indie romance authors.
Okay, yes — I was the last panelist, and yes — quite a few people had left by the time I spoke 😂, but the ones who stayed? Incredible energy, and it truly felt like a gathering of romance lovers. Just the kind of community we need more of.
Final Words (for now)
I just want to say thank you. For riding with me, for supporting me when I was ready to give up on myself and my writing career. You all said “NO” in the most loving, powerful way, and I am still here because of you. Your encouragement pulled me out of a dark place, and for that, I’m forever grateful.
Thank you for growing with me. For reading. For loving the stories. For sticking around through the chaos. I love you all so much. Truly. Deeply. Dramatically.
Love youuuu. Uber Super Duper proud of you! Madam CEO🤭🤗🥰
Congratulations on your new business! Looking forward to your Anthology
