If you have been following this series, then you know we are getting closer to the release date of A Crossfire of Hearts, the third book and possibly the final book depending on whether or not I decide to write a spinoff based on a new character you will meet in this third book.
Why did I change the covers?
I was no longer feeling the first cover originally revealed for A Crossfire of Hearts. There was a disconnect between the cover and the story, and I wanted more. There was also the issue of the book covers of all three books not looking like they are part of a series.
To fix this, here’s what I did:
First, I came up with a concept of what I wanted the book covers to look like. I wanted them to have a similar theme as part of a series but I also wanted each book to reflect the individuality of their stories. I went on Pinterest for ideas, did a lot of Google searching and I finally came up with a concept.
Next, I went on Canva to start designing. With Canva’s (Pro) updated tools, I used their AI feature to generate the kind of background I wanted (which was a huge struggle, AI can be a mess), and with their stock images, and elements feature, I put together what I wanted. This took a lot of work and gave me a serious headache but I am proud of the outcome.
Now, to the big reveal! Drumroll…
